We had a great family birthday for about 20, Excellent food, service, ambience and price. Entrees enjoyed were fish and chips, eggplant parmesan, salmon. Plus salads, selection of pastas, deserts. A day and experience much enjoyed by all.

Lovely little restaurant with a varied "dairy style" kosher menu. Slightly unusual set-up where you order from a kiosk and pay in advance. It's hard to tip before you experience the service. The kiosk menu is comprehensive but requires a little patience to go through. The order took a very short time to arrive--no complaints on the wait. Everything was hot and delicious. Employees were friendly and helpful. A variety of beverages. All good!

Delicious food!!!! Pizzas were thin crust and extremely tasty, salads were delicious. By far better than similar type restaurants in Teaneck NJ and NYC. Also lovely decor, and nice, friendly staff. Highly recommend.

GREAT food for sure. Everything that we order was great - but took over an hour to get - all came at a different time - i would think that soup would be one of the first - not the last to come out. I would really suggest that they get more waiters - the guy serving us was running around like crazy!!!! Please as well - get someone to clean and take out the trash mid day. The trash cans were FILLED - floor sticky - bathroom not clean. I would love to go back for food but we did not like the fact that we had to wait over an hour to get it.

The Marguarita Pizza here is bomb. We stopped here on our trip, and it seem that a lot of the food choices on the menu are all healthy foods. We also ordered some sushi, and it was good too. I just wanted soy sauce on it. The pizza was a large for 3. Nice beautiful designed cultured place here. Nice staff, very friendly. Prices here are about moderate. We had a good time.

Recently added sushi to the menu. Very good. My wife loves sushi and says it is the best sushi she has had in the area.

Stopped here driving back from Baltimore to NJ. Totally worth it. Excellent food, sizable portions and top notch service!

Ordered Garlic Knots, a milkshake and a personal pie. The garlic knots were extremely filling and delicious. Milkshake was amazing and served elegantly.

I was in the Bala Cynwyd area and was looking for a nice bite to eat on a Sunday night, so I decide to stop off at Zagafen. Zagafen recently opened in the former Citron and Rose, which has since moved down the street. Sunday is generally the most popular day for this restaurant since it is Kosher and closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Still, I was able to get a seat along with my party. Zagafen is a dairy restaurant and has two kitchens. One is Cholev Israel and the other is non-Cholev Israel. There is no large difference between the two kitchens other than the process that the milk used is supervised. Eventually, I placed my orders and I got the tomato bisque soup and the gnocchi. The table also got a side dish of caulilini, which is a vegetable similar to broccolini. Finally, I had the seared potato gnocchi. All the food is presented at once at Zagafen. Therefore, all the appetizers and entrees are served at once. While the presentation is a bit odd, the food at Zagafen is delicious. I loved creaminess and how the flavor of tomato stood out in the soup. I found the gnocchi to be tasty with warm and tasty cheese inside and the pasta was distinct as it was made out of fresh potato. The gnocchi also had some crispy spinach layered on top, which was a nice, tasty touch. I also had a couple of bites of the pan roasted brazino, which someone at may table had. It was very nicely filleted and had a great taste. For dessert, I had the chocolate bomb, which was a chilled, chocolate mousse that was wonderfully whipped up and served in a layer of white chocolate with a side of berries. I found Zagafen to be fairly expensive even for a Kosher restaurant. Altogether, Zagafen is a great, new restaurant addition to Bala Cynwyd that serves quality Kosher food that is fresh, healthy and tasty.
